Organisations that support veterans and their families will soon be brought together for a landmark summit in Melbourne.

Minister for Veterans Shaun Leane today encouraged groups to register to attend the Ex-Service Organisation (ESO) Summit, which will be held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre on Saturday 6 August 2022.

The summit will encourage attendees to share insights and collaborate across the ex-service sector, as well as help ensure veterans and their families continue to have access to high-quality support services.

It will also allow organisations to discover current trends and opportunities in service delivery and connect with other groups, so they can forge new relationships across the sector which may enhance their services.

The Andrews Labor Government is providing more than $200,000 to plan and deliver the summit as part of its ongoing commitment to honouring and supporting Victoria’s veteran community.

The summit will be hosted by the Victorian Veterans Council (VVC), an independent statutory body that provides crucial advice to the Labor Government on issues impacting the veteran community.

Attendees will be able to participate in-person or virtually. A welcome event will be held ahead of the summit at the Shrine of Remembrance on Friday, 5 August.
