Grants To Honour And Support Victoria’s Veterans

The legacy, service and sacrifice of Victorian veterans is being honoured through a range of wellbeing supports backed by the Andrews Labor Government.

Acting Minister for Veterans Ros Spence announced that organisations can apply for funding through the Anzac Day Proceeds Fund and the Victoria Remembers grant programs.

The grant programs are part of the Labor Government’s ongoing recognition of veterans and their families, providing support to ensure they can thrive.

The ANZAC Day Proceeds Fund supports ex-service organisations to deliver a range of activities that boost the wellbeing of Victoria’s veteran community.

Grants of up to $150,000 are available to organisations that provide state-wide services to veterans and their families, and grants of up to $50,000 to those that provide area or region-specific services.

Previous recipients include Guitars for Vets Australia, which used funding of $16,500 to support music therapy and guitar lessons for younger veterans experiencing PTSD.

Funding is also available through the Victoria Remembers Grant Program, which provides grants of up to $30,000 for projects that honour veterans’ service or educate Victorians about veteran’s contributions.

The Cretan Federation of Victoria is amongst last year’s recipients, having received funding to support an Annual Parade and Commemorative Service to mark the Anniversary for the ANZACs in the Battle of Crete, 1941.

Ex-service organisations, local government authorities and not-for-profit organisations are encouraged to apply.

The Victorian Veterans Council, an independent advisory body that helps ensure veterans are at the heart of policies and projects that affect them, assesses and allocates funding for both these important grant programs.

Applications for both grant programs will close on Monday 22 August 2022.
