The popular community and children’s farm in Myuna will be upgraded thanks to support from the Andrews Labor Government’s Growing Suburbs Fund.

Minister for Local Government Shaun Leane today joined Member for Dandenong Gabrielle Williams at the Myuna Farm to announce a pavilion redevelopment, which is one of a number of projects Casey City Council will revitalise for the growing community, through more than $3.2 million from the Labor Government fund.

More than $350,000 will go towards improvements to the Myuna community and children’s farm community pavilion to make it more accessible and better catered to community needs.

While the much-loved Ray Bastin Reserve, home to the ‘Spacerocket Park’, will also be redeveloped to the tune of $1.6 million to include more opportunities for exercise and play.

The Gwendoline Children’s Centre will also be upgraded to support more families in the Berwick area, thanks to more than $920,000.

Council will also receive $350,000 to redevelop Tooradin Public Hall in a bid to support more community members as the population grows.

The Growing Suburbs Fund helps Melbourne’s rapidly developing interface and peri-urban councils deliver high-quality facilities for their communities.

The fund has invested more than $39.17 million towards 28 projects across Casey, including a major redevelopment of the Pearcedale Recreation Reserve Pavilion and expansion of the Littlecroft Family and Community Centre in Narre Warren South.
