Vermont South students will learn in first-rate classrooms, as the Andrews Labor Government continues to roll out the next phase of our school building boom.

Member for Eastern Metropolitan Shaun Leane today announced Weeden Heights Primary School will receive a $5.833 million upgrade, as part of the Victorian Budget 2021/22.

The funding will upgrade and modernise the school, including Building A.

The Budget invests $1.6 billion to build new schools and improve existing schools – making sure our kids have the bright futures they deserve.

Not only will this investment ensure great local schools, it will also create more than 3,500 new jobs in construction and associated industries, including more than 2,900 jobs in metropolitan Melbourne and around 615 jobs in regional Victoria.

In the past seven years, the Labor Government has invested more than $10.9 billion in building new schools, more than 1,700 school upgrades – creating around 13,500 jobs in construction and associated industries.

The Labor Government is building the Education State so that every Victorian gets the opportunity for a great education and every community has access to a great school.
