Students at Yarra Hills Secondary College will soon be even more sun smart with the addition of new shade cloths, thanks to the Andrews Labor Government.

Member for Eastern Metropolitan Shaun Leane today announced the upgrade as part of the Labor Government’s commitment to schools.

Yarra Hills Secondary College will receive $36,800 for the new shade cloths, allowing students to enjoy more time outside come rain, hail or shine.

By making sure students have access to the best outdoor facilities we can increase the proportion of kids staying active.

By 2025, the Labor Government wants a 20 per cent increase in the proportion of kids doing physical activity five times a week.

Yarra Hills Secondary College is one of thousands of schools with upgrades now underway across Victoria thanks to the Government’s unprecedented $3.8 billion investment in school infrastructure as part of the Education State.

This investment has delivered 70 new school projects and more than 1,300 school upgrades, creating more than 5,000 construction jobs.
