The Andrews Labor Government is making travel easier for drivers in Melbourne’s east by boosting traffic flow through some of the busiest local arterial roads.

Following an extensive review and monitoring process, Shaun Leane MP, said traffic light signals have been tweaked on the Monash Freeway exit ramp at Ferntree Gully Road in Glen Waverley.

This simple change will ensure traffic continues to move along the Monash Freeway and off the exit ramp during peak times.

Safety will be further improved with the installation of sensors near the intersection.

Traffic flow has been boosted since these improvements were put into place with the addition of ramp signals in December, which has made travelling through this busy area smoother and safer.

VicRoads will continue to monitor the area to ensure the safety of all drivers using this important intersection linking drivers to the Monash Freeway.

More than 170,000 vehicles travel on this section of the Monash Freeway each day, while up to 30,000 drivers rely on this section of Ferntree Gully Road.
