Boronia-based IDT Australia Limited has won the Growth Sector – Medical Technologies and Pharmaceuticals category award at the 2017 Victorian Manufacturing Hall of Fame.

Member for Eastern Metropolitan Region Shaun Leane today congratulated the team at IDT Australia for their outstanding achievement.

IDT Australia Limited is a publicly listed Australian pharmaceutical manufacturing company that has brought expertise and innovation to the development and production of pharmaceutical products for local and international markets for over 30 years.

The company specialises in high-containment, high-potency manufacturing of active pharmaceutical ingredients and finished drug products – including  tablets, capsules and injectables, microbiological and analytical testing.

In the last 12 months, IDT Australia Limited has successfully undertaken many projects for international companies with products bound for the US, Europe, Japan and other global markets.

The Manufacturing Hall of Fame Awards, which were established in 2001, recognise individuals and companies who embrace new technologies and manufacturing techniques, are export focused and excel in business innovation.

Victoria’s world-class manufacturing industry contributes around $26 billion to the State’s economy each year and employs more than 270,000 people.

Through the Future Industries Fund, the Andrews Labor Government is working hard to create jobs and support high growth industries.
